It's Not Eatsy Being Green

This morning we had a regular breakfast, but the rest of our eating day was "lucky!"

For lunch there was green juice boxes, green bags of chips, bagels with green cream cheese, and green candies (only 3 little eggs). For snack after school we had lime Jell-O Jigglers. Our dinner was especially blooming...we had green dinner rolls (made with 1/2 the fat and flax ... they were great! aside from the green reminding me a little of moldy bread),green rice, cucumber salad, broccoli, strawberries and chicken. It was definitely a successful meal (if the measure of success is the more green the better). The girls thought it was an exceptionally fun dinner ...and I enjoyed providing their delight. Wait until you see what we do for the 4th of July! (just kidding) (maybe)

(I think it's funny that having this green food in a slide show makes it seem like the food is really important .... poignant moments!)

I think I must be a boring mom. I never even thought to do something like that... my girls would have loved it, but I'm too lazy. Or maybe I'm still worn out from the crazy birthday weekend. I was fairly exhausted today. Another year, perhaps. I don't even think my girls knew today was St. Patrick's Day. I only told them it was Uncle Roger's birthday.

This looks like so much work! I think it's adorable that you made a slide show to memorialize the food preparations. If you close your eyes before biting into the rolls and focus on the flavor maybe that helps with the “moldy expectation” issue.

I feel like a boring mom too! I bought a corned beef and cabbage and didn't even cook it. There is always tomorrow!

when your kids are in school they don't miss much, because the teachers and everyone else remind them of every tiny holiday .... when mine weren't in school we didn't do as much either. Brielle and Linzi this past weekend kept reminding me about wearing green and all that.
