The Cold Hard Flax

So I made some super yummy delicious scrumptious chocolate chocolate chip cookies yesterday.

Did you know that ground flax seed can be added to many things to make it healthier? It adds protein, fiber, Omega-3's, and Lignans (antioxidants).

You can use it IN THE PLACE OF eggs, butter, or oil.
Awesome, right?

So while I stirring up these cookies, I added, in place of part of the butter, the ground flax. Now these cookies are a tiny bit healthier, with added fiber and protein, and less fat (butter).

SO you should all go and buy some ground flax. I got mine at Costco. You can add it to yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, salads, baked goods, and tons of other things. Yum! (you can't even taste it ... really)
Healthier baked goods is so good. (I know they're not completely healthy ... but I'm grasping at straws here.)

I remember adding wheat flour to everything when you kids were little. I have to tell you that Grandpa and I go for FLAVOR (fat or butter) in baked goods. It gives such a wonderful flavor and there's really nothing like it. We love your baked stuff.

I love Flax seed. I buy the seeds and either grind them or use them whole.
