Hubba Hubba

Today is Matt's 33rd birthday. Well, I just got lucky when I met him I think. He is the best husband and father I could have asked for. Here are 33 reasons why I love Matt.

  1. He makes me laugh ... even when I'm trying to be mad
  2. He makes our house nicer
  3. He truly is one of the most hard working people I have EVER met
  4. He has great hair
  5. He is a nice person in general (that's one of the first things I noticed about him)
  6. He always makes me feel wanted and loved
  7. He makes the girls laugh
  8. He bought a cat for the sake of our children, and always makes sure she's taken care of (I've never had to feed her or do the litter box ... thank goodness!)
  9. He takes out the garbage
  10. He doesn't get mad when I spend money
  11. He loves to cook and makes yummy things (he makes breakfast every weekend he's home)
  12. He loves music as much as I do and has good taste too
  13. I think he has the cutest smile (he doesn't like to smile ... but it is nice when he does)
  14. He loves to shop almost as much as I do ... which is very convenient when either one of us wants to go shopping
  15. Matt never criticizes me for my failings
  16. He is a caring and nurturing father (Kate loves to fall asleep on him ... and he puts the big girls to bed every night)
  17. He tries everything I bake or cook and is always truthful but kind (which I appreciate, so next time I don't make something he doesn't like ... of course I always want to please him)
  18. He takes time off of work to do things for the girls, like assemblies or field trips
  19. He lets me go to the movies by myself when I need a break
  20. When I spend several days just reading and the house is a mess, he doesn't get mad ... he only asks how I can be so interested in a book and then lets me finish reading
  21. If the kitchen is messy and I haven't had time to clean it ... he will clean it
  22. Matt has always been selfless ... he is so giving of his time and his love
  23. Matt is supportive in all of my endeavors .... music, quilting, reading, baking, whatever it is, he is there to help if he can
  24. He takes the girls to get me cards for mother's day and my birthday
  25. When Kristy died, Matt let me just fly to Utah for days and took the time off of work to take care of the girls ... I really appreciated that
  26. I love it that when we met, the first "date" we ever had (the movie Hope Floats ... too bad it wasn't so great) he came even though he was sick because he wanted to see me
  27. He sings to the girls
  28. He makes me feel safe
  29. He remembers what I was wearing the first time he saw me (I don't even remember such things)
  30. He tells me I'm beautiful
  31. He makes sure we have family prayer every night
  32. He is a faithful Priesthood holder and gives us blessings if we need it
  33. He is the best husband and I am thankful to have him for eternity

When you got married, and I hugged Matt, he whispered in my ear, "Don't worry, I'll take good care of her." I have always remembered that. I also remember a time when you first lived here and he got home from work and we saw him going upstairs with McDonalds, which he got on his way home from work. I looked at George and said, "There's Matt, taking care of his girls." He is a perfect father for girls. I think you are both so fortunate and rejoice in your happiness. We, too, think Matt is just wonderful and love him so very much!
