Book Review: Tangled Roots

Tangled Roots, GG Vandagriff

This book is about Alex and Briggie ... who own a genealogical detective agency. When they are asked to research a family tree and uncover an old murder, they realize quickly that this isn't just any old family tree. Soon they realize that someone wants the information they are finding to be kept secret. Intertwined in this mystery is Alex's struggle with 2 different men in her life, and her struggle to get beyond what happened in her past.

This is an LDS book ... I thought it was good. (the author wrote several before this with the same characters ... oops, I read them out of order.)

In the back of the book, it tells about the author ... she wrote the other books in the series and finished the last one in 1996 ... soon after that, she became ill and underwent a procedure that caused her to lose her memory and ability to write. In 2006 she was miraculously healed, but didn't get her memory back. One day she received an impression to look in her computer for an idea she had had about a third book in this series. To her surprise she found an entire novel written she didn't remember writing, which became Tangled Roots.
I thought that was interesting.
