Undercurrents, Tracy Hunter Ambramson
This is a good LDS romance mystery type of book. It was the kind of book that I couldn't put down because I wanted to know what happened, and by the end, I really wanted to read the next book to find out the next part of the story. (actually, I started it at 9:00 last night, finished it by 12:00 and then stayed up until 1:00 reading the next book in the series.)
The main character in the book is a girl whose dad has died a month ago. Her mom died when she was a young girl, and the only person left in her life is Chase, her boyfriend and only "family" she has left. When she gets out of swimming practice early she decides to meet Chase at his apartment, but once she's there, 2 men barge into the apartment and Chase tells her to hide. Before she knows it, Chase is dead, and she has been put into the Witness Protection Relocation Program. The men who killed Chase are smugglers who know she saw them and now want her dead.
The story escalates from there, and you'll have a hard time putting it down. It's a perfect mix of romance and suspense. Definitely recommendable.
