This is what it looked like before ... (ignoring, or course, the table with sewing stuff all over it)
Hopefully, soon, it will be back to having the wood on the walls and will look more "done," but for today, it's way different and exciting to think of what it will be when it's finished. (it's amazing how different it seems just having the sheet rock up .... we're used to the Craftsman style dark wood panelling and molding ... the sheet rock makes it look a lot "lighter." We're bringing back the original dark wood though ... this house needs to keep that character)

WOW, that really is different, huh. So this is a smaller opening. Does it make the family room look larger? Will it be easier to arrnage the furniture?
it's a 4 foot opening ... in the family room it just feels more like a "room" and less like part of the dining room ... in the dining room, it almost makes it feel bigger because you see that there's a whole other room behind the doors, not just another space open to it ... if that makes sense?
It really only added a foot of wall space on either side of the opening in the family room. So furniture will probably be the same. but if feels really like a den or something. Different ... I like it.
Very Nice!! I'm excited to see the end results :)
It is so exciting but so much hard work to remodel your house. It has taken us a year to finish up our basement but we are hoping to get it all done by the end of this month. At least Matt is so handy and knows all this stuff, I am excited to see your finished living area.
