Quotable

(Tonight at dinner)

Tessa: "Mom, I don't want you, I want Dad."
Mom: "Dad's working, you have to have me."
Tessa: "I only like Dad."
Mom: "You don't like me anymore?"
Tessa: "No, just Dad."
Mom: *heart wrenching sigh* "That makes Mommy really sad Tessa."
Tessa: "I only love Daddy."
Mom: "But I love you so much, I feel really bad if you don't love me too."
Tessa: "Okay, I love you Mom."

Apparently me making Tessa eat her dinner wasn't her cup of tea. At least she conceded that she does, in fact, love me.

The joy of motherhood ... thankless work.

I love these little conversations! Children are so interesting, aren't they!

We have these conversations all the time except that they are screaming at the top of their lungs. The reward comes when you stand your ground and they come back giving thanks. I too thank Our Heavenly Father every night for this opportunity to raise my children. Even the days my kids have me locked up in my room wondering what am I doing?
