Staycation

This weekend we didn't do anything big. We stayed home, and did little things together as a family. I think it was a good weekend.

For the 4th, The big girls and I saw the movie Kit Kittredge An American Girl (see 2 American Girls). Then, we all went to the park and played ... and then ate at Red Robin, which happens to be the girls' first choice of places to eat. (luckily ... it's mine too!) After that, we went home and waited until when the fireworks were going to be going off, then drove to the hillside overlooking downtown and the waterfront and watched the big Freedom Fair fireworks show from the car. The girls had fun, I thought it worked. No crowds and no worrying about what to do with Tessa and Kate. It was surprising how many fireworks were going off ... we could see them in Federal Way, Browns Point, Vashon, downtown ... it was fun!

Saturday morning we went to the farmer's market (see Fresh is Best), and then went to the park after that. Brielle and Linzi and I had a race in the field, which I don't know who won, but the next day my muscles were sore, which is pretty pathetic if you ask me. We have discovered that Kate likes going down the slide by herself, and that Tessa can do almost anything the big girls can. It was pretty fun.

Sunday, we went to church with Tim and Jessica to see their baby be blessed. The girls liked going to Primary with their cousins .... and Tessa and Molly had fun in the nursery.

I guess sometimes, staying home can be as fun as going out. (and much less stressful and expensive)

Looks like fun. I got up this morning and had my hot chocolate outside on the deck. It's kinda like being someplace. . .
