Blown to Smithereens

smith·er·eens [smith-uh-reenz] –plural noun
small pieces; bits: broken into smithereens.


So I heard this word on tv and asked Matt to look it up on Wiktionary (I knew what it meant, but wanted to know the EXACT meaning) .... needless to say this is a great word that isn't used enough. (mostly we hear it in reference to the cartoony blowing up of things)



I think it would be funny to ask Brielle to sweep the smithereens up off the floor.
