So my grandma passed away this past Monday. She was a great grandma. Loving, fun, happy, candy/cookie/pie giving, and just a nice person. Here are a few of my favorite memories.
- she always made my favorite cherry cheesecake for my birthday. and I asked for the same thing every year.
- When we sat by her in church she would pull out her folding scissors and cut us paper dolls. I really loved those. And I thought the scissors were really cool.
- She always had fudgsicles and marshmallow cookies (which were really grandpa's but she didn't tell him we took them)
- If I was home from school sick and got to stay at her house, she would wheel a tv out just for me and set up the tv tray next to the couch and bring me yummy things to eat. I especially loved the cinnamon and sugar toast she made in the oven.
- She ironed her money and had paper clips for all her little piles, and used her typewriter for everything.
- She made our stockings that we had growing up, I still use mine to this day, and when she couldn't make them anymore for the new babies, she gave me all the stocking stuff, brown paper bag pattern included and showed me how to make them, and when I had made some she acted impressed. I don't think they were that impressive, but they did look like hers.
- She had the best laugh and when she came over would greet you like you were her favorite, even though she did it to everyone it made me feel special.
- She has always been a good great grandma to my children. She thought they were cute and sweet just like a great grandma should. And even to the very end, most of the time she remembered their names. (which is a feat considering how many great grandchildren she has)
- one of the best things about her is that she invited the missionaries into her home, and brought the gospel into my mom's life, which brought it to me. I think that is the greatest gift she could ever have given.
It's nice having good memories of a sweet grandmother. I hope she knows how special we all thought she was.

Wow! You really look like her. Great picture! Sorry for you loss.
She was the best, huh??
Sorry to hear about her passing. You do really look like her. Is this the grandma that lived with you guys? If so I do remember her and the stories Emily would tell at work. Sounds like she was everything you could want in a grandmother..... you were all lucky to have that in your life.
