Our Isla Ann

She's 5 weeks old!  It's been interesting to say the least.  She has NOT been my easiest baby, not by a long shot.  In fact, I think she's been the most difficult.  She just cries ALL the time.  I'm eating dairy/gluten free, so that's been difficult, but I think it has helped the crying some.  She also has reflux, so she's on a twice a day medication.  All in all, this has been difficult for me, and there are many times I want to just sit down and cry because I'm tired, or hungry (I still haven't gotten used to eating gluten and dairy free ... I just feel like I'm hungry all the time), or just plain stressed.  It's hard to listen to a screaming baby and know there's nothing to do about it.  She's not hungry, she doesn't need a new diaper, and she won't go to sleep.  I just hold her and walk around with her and try to zone out.

Ug.  It's been challenging.

I will say that she has rewarded me with more smiles since the beginning than any of my other babies did.  She is absolutely sweet when she's not crying.  She has the cutest little chubby face and sweet cheeks and is just squishy and fun.

These are the most recent pictures ... what a doll!  (I'm not loving her skin though ... this baby acne is seriously persistent.)

I'm just pleased she's here.  I sense her sweet spirit and know she was meant for us.  Challenging or not, she's a gift!!
