Egg Hunt

I filled almost 100 eggs for the kids to find (in keeping with our "less is more" theme).  They did pretty well.  Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day weather wise, so it was just perfect for being outside.  I hid all the eggs and the kids ran around trying to find them.  Once Quinn discovered the first one had candy, that was about all he cared about.  He started eating his first egg's candy and was done.

And I neglected to get pictures of them in their Easter dresses the next day.  I'll have to set up a "photo shoot" for that ... can't believe I forgot!  They all looked so cute.

Easter Morning

We actually have Easter baskets Saturday morning.  The girls all woke up and sat on the stairs waiting for us to get them ... I was surprised!  Matt and I thought they'd just come running down.  Our "Easter Bunny" is trying the "less is more" theory, so this year we only did a little.  It was still good.  These pictures are slightly pathetic ... the girls weren't really cooperating, they were too interested in their Easter spoils.  And Quinn had JUST woken up, so he was still a little groggy.

It was nice doing this Saturday morning.  Left our Sunday free for getting ready for church and focusing on the Savior's role in Easter and not the Easter Bunny's.

26 Weeks

  • I'm in the double digits for time left being pregnant.  *WAHOO!*
  • I'm getting varicose veins for the first time in my right leg.  *sob*
  • We mowed our lawn for the first time this year ... it looks better ... and the fact that it was nice enough today to do it is even more great!
  • I found the cutest flannel to make Isla's burp cloths.  I made a bunch for Quinn and LOVED them so I figured I might as well make some cute feminine ones for Isla.
  • Time has a strange way of going super quickly, but then not.  I feel like the days are quick, but I really wish I was closer to being done being pregnant.  I'm tired.

Ha.

I'm a Stuffed Purse.

Have you ever seen someone's purse that has WAY too much stuff in it?  You know the one I'm talking about.  It's full of things of various descriptions ... so full that it's bulging to the point of almost bursting.

Or have you seen a man's wallet that is so full of receipts and papers it will barely close?

That's how I feel lately.  Like a stuffed purse.

Class Pictures 2011

Tessa

Linzi

Brielle (they put on Brielle's "grade 1" which is obviously wrong ... I'm assuming they'll send us a new picture?)

Tessa can ride her bike!

She's been practicing and on this particular day just HAD to show me and get me to video it.  She was very pleased with herself.

Proud Mommy Moment.  And one thing a parent wants their child to learn, done.  Whew.

Orchestra "Spring Fling"

We had an orchestra concert last night for Brielle.  It was for the 5th and 6th grades, the Jr. Highs that feed into the High School, and then the High School orchestra.  It was interesting to see the progression; from 5th graders who just started this past September, to high school students who've been playing since 5th grade.  Brielle did great!

She played the 2nd violin part for the songs (she's in the 2nd row in front of the director ... glasses and her blond ponytail):

They had this in the gym because of the large number of orchestra students who would need to be on the floor at once, and let me tell you ... bleachers aren't comfortable.  At all.  It was a little torturous.  But seeing Brielle play and do a great job was worth it!

25 Weeks

And growing.

(and I have more to say about the children but that will have to wait until tomorrow ... there has been first bike riding, and concerts, and class pictures, and field trips ... we're busy busy!)

I Wish this was Law

Moms of 5 kids who are pregnant with their 6th, should NOT, under ANY circumstances, get sick.

That is all.

24 Weeks

  • I'm not 25 anymore.
  • My body KNOWS it's not 25 anymore.
  • Being pregnant at almost 34 is harder than it was in the past ... and having 5 kids on top of that.  But Isla is TOTALLY worth it.  So excited to meet her!
  • I've found sleepers and cute things for her to wear ... fun swaddling blankets adorable socks.  It's fun doing girl clothes again.
  • I am sad that it's Easter time ... I've been craving Cadbury Eggs.  *sigh*  they're so good right now.
  • Matt and I went on a little "vacation" to the ocean for 2 nights.  It was a nice break.  Thanks to Aunt Karen for watching all the kids.  We ate out for almost every meal, we went to sleep when we were tired and didn't have to wake up and get out of bed for anyone.  It had been 6 years since we had had a kid-less night ... I hope it's not 6 more years for another one.
  • It's been an interesting journey being pregnant for the 6th time.  I find that there are 2 types of people.  People who know it's #6 and find it amazing/interesting/shocking and want to talk about why and all of that ... and then there are people who know it's #6 and totally ignore the very fact that I'm pregnant and having another baby; as if it doesn't warrant even their interest.  I guess I'm getting used to being different and abnormal in this world.  It's definitely been different this time.
